Additional Prayers for Sudan
A prayer from the Autumn 2007 issue of "Sudan Church Review," a publication of the Diocese of Salisbury, England:
God our Father, whose son Jesus Christ wept over your people who knew not the way of peace and were as sheep without a shepherd, hear our prayer for the people of Sudan. Turn the hearts of their leaders to reconciliation and peace. Bless their Archbishop and clergy, that they may be true shepherds of your flock. Strengthen those who heal the wounded and feed the hungry. Hasten the time when all nations will own your just and gentle rule and receive your gift of peace, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Two prayers from the June 2001 edition of "Sudan Extra," a publication of The Sudan Committee of the Diocese of Salisbury, England:
1. God bless Sudan. Guide her leaders. Guard her children. Grant her peace. Amen
2. Father of all, before the Throne of Grace, we remember the people of Sudan. Give us the heart to feel for those who wander the world, seeking a home to call their own. Give us the mind to strengthen those who feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and welcome the stranger. Give us the spirit to pray for those who walk in the shadow of death. May all the nations obey you, all the peoples love you, and the whole earth rejoice in you. Father, Son, and Spirit. Amen

Two prayers for Sudan on the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) Sudan page:
A prayer from a Sudanese boy in an Ethiopian refugee camp:
God of all people, we yearn for peace in our land, that we may pray to You in freedom. This is the prayer we make: Hear our prayers as we cry out to You. Hear the wailing of our souls in the wilderness. Watch over us, our Creator!
A prayer request of a Sudanese Mothers' Union leader in a Ugandan refugee camp:
Those who have life, those who have wisdom, you women, have you heard? You must pray fervently for us! Pray for those who kill their own brothers. Pray for those who are sick and for those whose legs are cut off and for the aged and for the fetus still unborn. O good people of Jesus!
