Sudanese Theological Education
The Malek Bible School is an institution of the Episcopal Church of Sudan founded by the Diocese of Bor in 1991 in Malek Village near Bor Town. The college currently operates at three training centers/campuses:
- Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya--for training the refugee church leaders
- Nimule Displacement Camp--for training displaced church leaders
- Wunengor (near Bor Town in Southern Sudan)--for training church leaders who remained at home during the civil war
The college was established as a response to the huge need generated by the rapid growth of the church in the area. This growth has led to ordination of many pastors who lack basic pastoral and theological training.
