Bishop Marmion Resource Center (BMRC)

Jesus said to "Go and teach," and one of our diocese's goals is to speak the faith and increase understanding through teaching and education.

The goal of the Bishop Marmion Resource Center (BMRC) is to house and distribute resources (books, videos, audio tapes, curricula, etc.) to the diocese and other interested denominations.

The BMRC is open during Evans House's regular office hours. Or you can make an appointment for a consultation with one of the BMRC Coordinators, Dorothy Powell and Pam Wiegandt . E-mail the BMRC Coordinators at bmrc@dioswva.org them or call Evans House .

Borrowing and Returning Resources

We want our collection of books, videotapes, audiotapes, CDs, kits, and curriculum resources to be used! Any parish or parishoner in the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia has full access to the BMRC and its resources. Additionally, we loan resources to our ecumenical brothers and sisters and other dioceses.

Borrowing Items

Loan Period

  • You may keep most materials for two weeks. You may always extend the borrowing period by renewing. Some materials may be checked out for a much longer length of time by request. Please tell us how long you anticipate needing an item when you check it out. We will only contact you if materials are several weeks overdue or if another borrower needs the item. There are never any fines or harsh words for overdue materials!

Returning Items

  • There is a basket for returned items outside our office at Evans House. You can also return all of our materials by mail via Media Rate, a much cheaper rate than First Class or Priority.
