Diocesan Prayer Calendar
Prayer calendars may be downloaded here, or scroll down below to read the text.
Dear Friends,
Because praying for each other is the most effective way to support one another in our mutual life in Christ, prayers in this Calendar, including those for our brothers and sisters in Bradford and in Sudan and in the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, are suggested for use at each Eucharist in every parish of our diocese. In addition, I hope that you will use this Calendar as part of your daily prayers.
The prayers for our diocese follow the bishop’s calendar closely, specific parishes being named in the week in which the bishop makes his official visitation. Prayers for seminarians, postulants, and candidates for holy orders are placed near Ember Days.
The prayers for our companion diocese of Bradford, England, come to me from Richard Bailey, who edits a publication similar to this one. I extract the prayers for The Episcopal Church of Sudan, with whom we also have a companion relationship, from Sudan Church Review, a magazine published by the Diocese of Salisbury, England.
I recommend visiting the Anglican Cycle of Prayer website frequently to verify the worldwide calendar information since changes in diocesan leadership elsewhere occur regularly.
