Budget Information

A proposed budget is submitted to Council by the Executive Board's Finance Committee after receiving requests for funding from diocesan programs and committees.

Clergy and lay delegates should review the budget before coming to Council and discuss it at the January Convocation meeting.

At Council, there is opportunity for discussion of the budget with other clergy, delegates, and members of the Executive Board's Finance Committee and Council's Finance Committee on Friday evening after the Eucharist.

The proposed budget will be voted on during Saturday's business session. The procedure for discussing the budget during the business session is as follows:

  • The floor will be open for debate of the budget at microphones.
  • Any desired amendment must be moved and seconded.
  • The floor is then open for debate/discussion on the amendment.
  • Next, the amendment to the budget is voted on.
  • Debate is open again for the budget as a whole--including any amendments that were approved.
  • Once debate is closed, clergy and lay delegates vote on the budget as it stands.
